Do you ever wonder if the things you see on CSI are exactly what real-life forensics experts do?

The public will have the opportunity to learn and ask about life in Las Vegas Metro’s Forensic Lab during a special event Tuesday.

In the event titled “Forensic Science: Fact vs. Fiction,” scientists from Metro’s will address topics within their field including education needed for the job as well as what’s real in television programs depicting forensics.

The event is slated for the Springs Preserve at 333 S. Valley View Blvd. from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is also free for those who purchase general admission to the preserve or have a membership.

The event serves as part of National Forensic Science Week, which, according to Metro, commemorates the important role that proper forensic science plays in the investigation of crimes throughout the nation.
